Connect WorkBuddy
Activate your project before configuring a custom model. Menu labels may vary by client version.
Open a provisioned project in the console. Create an API key, give it a name and optionally set a daily limit.
The complete key appears only once. Save it in a password manager or another secure location; avoid shared notes, screenshots and source control.
Open the WorkBuddy desktop app, select your avatar and open settings, then find custom model configuration.
For a complete chat endpoint field, use the /v1/chat/completions URL below. For an OpenAI Base URL field, use the /v1 URL in API overview instead, avoiding duplicated paths.
Enter the project API key and copy a currently available model ID from the console model catalog. Match input and output limits to model capabilities instead of relying on an outdated fixed list.
Save, return to the conversation model selector, choose your custom model and test with a short message containing no sensitive information.
WARNING
For 401, check the key; for 402, check project quota; for 429, reduce request frequency. For model or network failures, retain the error and X-Request-ID and redact all credentials before contacting support.
